Where can I park?
We have plenty of space in the church parking lot.
When do people actually get there?
Our worship service starts at 9:50 and people normally are here shortly before then. From September to May we have Sunday School for all ages. This starts at 11:30.
How will I be welcomed?
We don’t have formal greeters at the door but have ushers at the back doors of the sanctuary.
What kinds of songs do you sing?
We mostly sing choruses with some hymns and we use powerpoint and a projector. We have a few different people leading the singing time and they each have a different style. We normally will have a small worship band of piano and guitar, as well as drums. Occasionally there will be creative elements like the use of flags during this time.
How long will the sermon be?
Our pastor admits to long sermon phobia, so he normally speaks 22-25 minutes.
What rituals do you have that I may be unfamiliar with?
One of the unique elements of our church is the sharing time during the service. This is a quite informal time for people to share both troubles and joys and receive prayer.
Is the dress casual or more formal?
Dress is casual, there are very few ties worn and ladies come in a variety of pants and dresses.
How long is the service?
Our service usually last from 9:50 to 11:15, depending on the length of the sharing time.
Who can take communion if it is served?
We include communion (Lord’s Supper) weekly because we want Jesus to be the center of our worship time. We welcome all who know Jesus as Saviour to join us, regardless of Christian background and we are comfortable with children taking communion as part of your family.
Will I be expected to give money?
We do have an offering to help with local costs and to support our denomination, missionaries and other ministries. There is no obligation to give. We have an offering box at the back for any donations.
What about kids?
For kids of all ages, we have clipboards with crayons and coloring pages to use at any time during the worship service.
During our service, at 9:50, we offer a staffed nursery downstairs for children from birth to age four. There is also a mom’s nursing room on the main floor at the end of the hall, with a bathroom and change table. From here, you can still see the stage as well as hear the message through the nursery speakers.
Each Sunday, children age 4 – grade 4 are released before the sermon to go downstairs for Children’s Church. Children’s church runs til 11:25.
Sunday School Classes?
After the service, starting at 11:30 to 12:15, we have Sunday School classes for all ages, starting from age two. Kids classes are downstairs and parents can drop kids off after the service. For kids, this consists of a large group Bible story time, small group learning, activities and plenty of fun and games!
Grades 7-12 have their class upstairs in the youth room.
Adults can either visit and have coffee in the foyer or meet back in the sanctuary for a time of discussion that usually centers around the message given that morning.
